When does a coach feel he has fulfilled his goals? Surely after winning a championship, certainly after playing one season at the best of his team’s possibilities. Personally, however, there is another opportunity that fills me with joy and pride and it has now become a traditional event: the annual International Basketball Clinic "Fundación Cesare Scariolo", now in its third edition, which will take place in the mythical Pabellón Ciudad Jardín, Málaga on the 26th and 27th of June. I consider this event more than just a Clinic. It is indeed an expression of basketball at the highest level, brought to Malaga by a team of coaches with great experience and prestige, and a sign of that solidarity that comes from the sport world and the sport people and that not only surrounds our lives but also helps us to be better professionals. This is the real victory in my opinion, being able to combine professionalism and sport knowledge at their best and share them between us, giving a smile to those suffering and in return receiving a great gift: that joy of living that determines that our athletic movements in offense, our biting the bullet in defense, but also (allow me for once) protesting against the referees or getting upset for a defeat, do not remain an end in themselves but rather be real hymns to life.
