Waiting for Lithuania

I have been very negatively impressed by the episode of the brawl involving Greek and Serbian players, in the last friendly game between the two national teams.

esplit-11_blogAbove all I think that what Krstic did has absolutely exceeded any limits of competitive aggressiveness (and, among other things, bearing in mind it was a friendly game).
I don’t know if action will be taken against the player, but I think that such an attitude is extremely dangerous for the image of our sport and that behaving in this way without getting a harsh penalty, regardless of the fact that the game was friendly, would be an extremely serious precedent for the discipline and reputation of our sport.

Meanwhile, we continue our tour of friendly games, and will play against Lithuania tonight in an interesting situation because we will work on some adjustment, always with the aim to improve tactically compared to the game played against them two weeks ago in Vitoria: they have improved, their can count again on their starting playmaker while we should strive not to be "dangerously" distracted by the upcoming start of the World Championship and by next Sunday friendly game against the United States.

Talk to you soon,

Sergio
