The last ones have been crazy hours for our coaching staff: we had options to end up in three different positions in the ranking, having up to three different opponents and therefore we have been able to prepare next game finally knowing which was the team we were going to face only at around 00:30, 1am, when we arrived in Istanbul and could start studying Greece.
A very strong team, as always competitive, talented, complete in all positions, which compared to last year’s semifinals has got back their star Diamantidis, but against which we feel able to fight and compete with the goal of winning to continue our progression, which every day is giving us more and more confidence.
The assistant coaches have done an excellent job in selecting the images to be shown to the players, we have seen 3-4 games, including last year’s semifinal, although clearly the presence of Pau and the absence of Diamantidis make it valid only to some extent.
Today we will train, a session that will clarify the principles of our game plan, to continue tomorrow morning with a shooting session in which hopefully will also participate Navarro and Garbajosa, that as you know are injured and we are not yet sure they will be able to play.

There is a very good atmosphere within the team, a great respect on a personal level as much as on the professional one. Everyone believes in what we are doing and as usual there is a very fluid communication that leads us to feel highly committed and close to each other at this time, despite a loss of concentration in a couple of games of the preliminary round that could have shaken our confidence and security.
We know our qualities, and we also know our limitations but we are convinced that by focusing on the first we’ll be able to hide the second one.
Cheers to all and again, thank you very much for all the messages of support that you have sent in the last days and that I haven’t been able to answer personally.
See you soon,
Sergio
